The firm’s founder and owner, Steve Tidrick, has experience in public policy at the local, state, and national levels. He served during the Clinton Administration on Vice President Al Gore's "reinventing government" project. He later wrote a cover story for The New Republic regarding the federal budget titled "The Budget Inferno," which was republished in The New Republic Guide to the Issues: the '96 Campaign (Basic Books, 1996). He has given many speeches, interviews, and other presentations concerning public policy issues on television, radio, and in other public forums, including a television interview with Chris Matthews, the widely quoted host of Hardball on MSNBC.

Mr. Tidrick has advised several presidential campaigns on a variety of domestic policy issues. He has also advised local governments on strategic planning and economic development issues.

He has served on the boards of directors of several local and national organizations, including the California Bar Foundation, Hope Street Group (a national bipartisan organization of leaders in business, civil society, and politics), and organizations in the fields of education and the arts.

In his local community, Mr. Tidrick has served on the Oakland & Berkeley Mayors' Task Force on Emergency Preparedness and Community Restoration and on the Oakland Library Advisory Commission. He has moderated numerous candidate forums and debates in local and statewide elections, including the first televised debate among the candidates for Mayor of Oakland in 2006.

Mr. Tidrick's community activities also have included serving as President of the Alameda County Democratic Lawyers Club from 2005 through 2007. In April 2008, he was elected by voters in California's 9th Congressional District to be a delegate to the Democratic National Convention. He has directed teams of attorneys in voter protection efforts for several elections.
